About Our Prints
At Yelé, every print is a story. Each exclusive design is born from deep cultural research, artistic vision, and a reverence for African heritage. These are not patterns — they are narratives woven into fabric, worn as a declaration of identity, pride, and beauty.
Every Yelé print is designed in-house and found nowhere else in the world.
Unity Print

The Unity Print is rooted in the rich tradition of Yoruba Adire batik — a West African resist-dyeing art form that has told stories through fabric for centuries. The symbols woven into this print are drawn from everyday life and carry profound meaning:
- Scissors — the tool of the craftsperson; a symbol of precision, skill, and creative power
- Rooftops — representing home, shelter, community, and belonging
- Brooms — a symbol of cleansing, order, and collective care
- Wire connections — the invisible threads that bind us across distance and difference
Together, they carry one powerful narrative: art is the key that brings people together in unity.
Power of Love Print

The Power of Love Print draws from the sacred Adinkra symbols of Ghana — ancient visual symbols that encode wisdom, values, and philosophy. This print carries a message of love in its fullest form:
- Akoma (the heart) — patience, goodwill, and love for others
- Nyame Nti — faith and God’s protection over all things
The narrative: encouraging self love, love for others, and love for the divine.
Royalty Print

The Royalty Print draws from the rich visual language of Yoruba symbolism — one of the world’s most powerful traditions of art, royalty, and divine authority. Every element was chosen with deep intention:
- The Crown — a symbol of sovereignty and divine right, worn by kings and queens of the Yoruba people. To wear the crown is to carry the weight and honor of your lineage.
- The Rod & Staff — ancient symbols of leadership, guidance, and protection. The rod commands, the staff shepherds — together they represent a ruler who leads with both strength and grace.
- The Throne — the seat of power, authority, and legacy. In Yoruba tradition, the throne is sacred — a place where the earthly and the divine meet.
“I am royalty. I wear my crown proudly and sit on thrones I deserve to be on.”
Festivity Print

The Festivity Print celebrates the joy of togetherness — the laughter, the music, the food, and the love that fills the air when community gathers. It is a tribute to the African tradition of celebration as an act of unity and cultural preservation.
The narrative: celebrations and community building.
Waves Print

The Waves Print is a collaboration with local artist Alphonso Smith, whose bold, expressive work bridges the worlds of science, culture, and ancestral folklore. The flowing, dynamic forms in this print speak to the unseen forces that shape our world — the waves of energy, memory, and ancestry that move through us all.
Inspired by science, culture, and ancestral folklore.
Arewa (Beauty) Print

The Arewa Print — meaning beauty or beautiful one in Yoruba — is a heartfelt tribute to womanhood. It honors the essential, often unseen role that women play in maintaining and enhancing the beauty of their communities: as nurturers, creators, leaders, and keepers of culture.
A tribute to the essence of womanhood and the vital role women play in their communities.
Each print is exclusive to Yelé — designed with intention, worn with pride.
